The 2024 Runway 5K is cleared for takeoff at Charlotte Douglas International Airport at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19.

More Than a Cool Course, This Race Changes Lives

CLT has raised more than $161,000 for college scholarships through the Runway 5K.

Race proceeds fund Airport Opportunity Scholarships at Central Piedmont Community College. The scholarships were created in 2018 to promote careers in aviation and economic opportunities in Charlotte.

The scholarships cover the full cost of attending Central Piedmont for two years, including tuition, books and fees.

Other scholarship benefits:

• Summer Bridge Program to help teens transition from high school to college
• Notebook computer
• One-on-one academic coaching
• Help with career planning, internships and job placement
