Wings for All
Charlotte Douglas International Airport in partnership with Delta Air Lines and The Arc annually hosts Wings for All, a nationwide program that provides people with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families with a “dress rehearsal” opportunity to experience and acclimate to airport stimuli.
During the Wings for All event, participants get to:
- Check-in to receive boarding passes
- Pass through the Transportation Security Administration checkpoint
- Wait in the boarding area
- Board an aircraft (that will taxi but does not take off)
The program also allows Airport, Airline, TSA professionals, and other personnel to observe, interact, and deliver their services in a structured learning environment, improving their disability competency and processes for accommodating passengers who fly.
Participation is on first come, first served basis, and is limited to 55 individuals with a disability. Each participant may bring up to 3 additional members/support staff to the event. However, only one family member will be allowed to board the plane with the participant.
Wings For All 2025 will take place at CLT Airport on Saturday, May 3, 2025.
Participant check-in begins at 2:15 pm with an anticipated boarding time of 3:50 pm.
Participants must be at least six years of age.
